For many years I had for some reasons avoided to go to Turkey, maybe because I startet to go to Greece and continued to go there for many years. But now that I have been to Turkey twice, most recently a visit to Istanbul in May 2012, I must say that the country was a pleasant surprise.

The climate is really warm, and since there's almost no rain in the summer period, you get all the sun and swimming you want. But getting sunburned is very easy, be careful.

Istanbul is the capital, and on the border between Europe and Asia, full of interesting sights and experiences for the curious tourist. I have posted some of my own pictures on the Istanbul page.
