Accomodation

Blue Star Oasis, 2002

In 2002, our family stayed in the very nice Blue Star Oasis, quietly located outside the rather noisy and pulsating centre of Las Americas (or Las Vegas as I started to call it..).

It's tropical surroundings, including the 3 pools and a Jacuzzi, made our stay rather pleasant.. And as we had a spacious 2-floor apartment with a kitchen, we could also prepare some food an "eat in".

For a nice exercise, the 30 minutes run around the local golf course is recommendable. But do your head and body a favor, and wait until the sun is going down.

Tropical Playa, 2003

This nice, clean and quiet hotel was perfect when we were back in 2003.

It is located close to the center of Las Americas, but yet not so noisy, has a nice pool area and walking distance to a number of restaurants and the local bus station.

After opening in 2009, the Siam Park is just across the street going up behind the Tropical Plaza.

In Las Americas you will find a number of nice attractions for yourself and your children.

Colón Rambla, 2004

Situated just off the main road then named after the late General Franco (recently removed), the Rambla for short, we found this nice apartment hotel.

Heavy traffic can make some noise, but it's location is very practical with only 10 minutes to walk down to the pedestrian streets in the main shopping area of Santa Cruz.

Torre 1, 2008

Searching the internet for a nice apartment, Elin found one for rent in one of the towers, Torre 1 (left).

It was modern and very well equipped, had a good price and was located just opposite the street from the pools of Parque Maritimo next to the St. Cruz concert hall.

It took 5 minutes by taxi (3,50 euro) to the middle of St. Cruz, or a 8  minutes walk to the new Metro-station where the air conditioned tram takes you up to the shopping area or further up to La Laguna.

More info about the apartment here.
