Scotland is a member in the UK, and with appr. 5,2 millions inhabitants and a long history of vikings and war, it's tempting to compare it with Norway.

The capital is Edinburgh, a historical city with castles and universities and an amazing number of pubs. Food in the restaurants is maybe not as great as all the good beer, but people are friendly and the city offers a lot to see for a tourist hungry for adventures.

People I know that have drived through Scotland by car tell me about great hospitality, great nature and scenary and a lot of nice towns and castles. I have wanted to do the same for many years, but so far other places have been put on top of that list.

Pictures like the one under of Dornie Castle by the Loch Duich, really makes me want to bring my camera, hire a car and take a tour up north in this nice country.
